Doctors, Doctors Doctors!

There really was no reason to blog yesterday as we could not eat....I said to Vicki, "what are we going to do today since you cannot eat...it seems strange....do we eat all day long?  It seemed like the answer must have been "yes" as we were besides ourselves!  Vicki could only have clear liquids in preparation for her tests today.  The tests were a  colonoscopy and a endoscopy

So, this AM, Tami appeared at our door step to take us to Vicki's appointment.  It is amazing how fast they did the 2 procedures....60 minutes after she went in she had them both done, spent 30 minutes in recovery and was ready to go home!  Our GI doctor is very good and very cute too!

We stopped at QT and got Vicki some peach tea and sandwiches and off to the house we went.  Tami worked on her tablet and her phone while she waited for Vicki to get done.  This made all of us happy!

Now about Mark.  Mark went back to work yesterday and in the meantime he dropped off some blood at the lab.  The results came back and he is almost back to normal.   They leave for Australia on Tuesday and they all are getting very excited!

Yesterday we went to see Rosine....we were very lucky that she did not totally loose it.  We were talking about how she makes Spaghetti sauce and it went from there to "did you ever buy a half of a cow and freeze it?"  Well, we were accusing her of not doing things right and she got very mad....the only thing that saved me was that my mouth was flapping in the wind and could not form any words....mama mia!

Tomorrow Vicki has a hearing aid appointment at 11:00 and then we get our nails done at 2:15.  We have to be out of the house at 8:00 so it will make it a long day!

Well, I will probably sew in the time between appointments!  I am setting up 2 quilts for Vicki to start on, I have 2 from the Quilt contest that I am finishing up and I have several cut and ready     to go!  I am trying to be casual about it and it really is more fun this way.  I also have the Christmas purses to finish....to use starting with Thanksgiving....which is not all that far away!  lol!

It is our responsibility to "Choose to keep right on Dancing"  Ole!

Be careful out there!

Playing catch up!

You know when you are really really old when........a pregnant girl holds the door open for you!  lol!  Yes, it happened to us today....I told her......she cracked up! At AT&T after going in and changing our plan.  Their procedure is to walk you to the door and hold it open for you as you leave!  I just started laughing!

We just did a bunch of running around today but managed to run right by Curves....bad girls!  Now, I wrote this yesterday ....so, we ran right by Curves again today!  I am really not happy......I have lost 13 pounds since my surgery and my stomach is actually bigger than it was before the surgery.  my stomach is the same size it was when I delivered Tami and I am 35 pounds heavier.  Vicki is having some tests done on the 11th and cannot eat any food on Monday.  I may just drink protein drinks all day and see what happens!

Today I   sewed the borders on Lou's quilt.  Tomorrow I will pick up the backing and will sew his and Hillary's so that Vicki can stitch in a ditch and they will be ready to go bye bye!

Today the chairs and the table were delivered.  They are really comfortable!

The table is really pretty....by the time we put all of our stuff on the table, you couldn't tell it was a new table!
Too much light...the chair is really nice.....will have to take a nap in it and see how it does!

Today, we went to see Rosine....I told Rosine  that I had seen the blurb on TV  about the F35S  are being delivered  to Luke AFB on Monday!  She had told us about it yesterday....Vicki looked at her mother and said" How are they getting here?"  Rosine and I just looked at each other and started laughing.."we think they will fly here"  Poor Vicki, it was just one of those blond moments.......the word delivered gave Vicki visions of planes being delivered by land or sea!  lol!

We are on the flight pattern....it has been very noisy this week with a lot of planes taking off and landing....I think it is going to get worse!

A memory!

Today Vicki and I were watching an International House Hunters which took place in Rome.  The show made me think about our trip to Europe in 2012.  I started thinking about my visit into Rome....Vicki was not able to go as she was still sick on the ship.  As we wandered around the city that day.....we went to all of the tourist spots.

I really did not have any desire to fight the tourist and stand in long lines....I was perfectly happy to take a picture and move right along.

I saw the Spanish stairs but did not wish to climb them.....

Trevi Fountain....what ever that is !  lol!  I know....it is 3 coins in the fountain!

Yes, we did throw 3 coins in the fountain and one of Jerry's wishes came true!

But.....this is the picture that came to mind....it was raining cats and dogs...all of a sudden all the umbrellas popped up....this picture does not have the full amount of umbrellas....what a sight to see....all the rain and hundreds of brightly colored umbrellas filled the square.  This was the best part of seeing Rome for a girl who never sees rain and certainly does not have the opportunity to see a square full of brightly colored umbrellas!  Like I say......it does not take much to make me happy!

The week is going slowly!

Today is only Tuesday but it seems like it should be Friday.  We went to Starbucks and then went to the  the Kachina Jewelry store to get a new battery for my talking watch.  The owner of the store was very nice and friendly.  After we left there we went to Lazy Boy and picked out 2 new chairs.

"Finally we get to sit in the window"  It takes so little to make us happy!  lol!

" Did I hear you say, Bill Clinton?"  sigh

The Lazy Boy store is right over by the hospital where Mark is visiting....so we decided to go and visit him.

"I just wanted to go home....okay one more day!" We felt so bad for Mark when the doctor told Mark that he could not go home today.  They need to pump him up with fluids so he is staying over night again!

We had better not tell Mark that we came to Chipotle for lunch....it will  make him feel bad....We will get him some tea and peanut M&M's from QT!

After we left Mark and Tami we went to visit Rosine.  Rosine was sitting in her chair rather than her wheel chair and was having a nice little nap.  A poler friend of hers died yesterday and she was surprised to hear about it.  She likes her new room as she is keeping track of how many times per day that the ambulance takes people to the hospital.

Good Night!

In like a lion....

March did come in like a lion so we will hope it goes out like a lamb!

We had a really good soaking rain.  At times it was a great down pour!

Saturday, March 1st,  was Lula Bales birthday.  Happy Birthday Lula!  Lula is my DIL's mother.  We hope you had a wonderful birthday and had loads of chocolate cake!  Happy Birthday!

Now about Mark....I am not going to go into any details other than to say that he went grocery shopping      with Joshua and somehow he ended up on the ground, was put in an ambulance and taken to the ErR at Arrowhead Hospital.  Vicki and I hopped into the car and ran out to the ER.  Aaron, Miranda and Josh were there with Mark.  They decided to keep him overnight for observation.  Today brought a round of tests, more fluids and a stay over for tonight.  Tami was in Topeka for National Guard and flew home this afternoon.  Keep Mark in your prayers.....he is getting bored in the hospital, which is a good sign!

Now, I must tell you a little story....today after going into QT to get our drinks I got back into the car and I said to Vicki....I just can't believe I am 75 years old....I can't believe it either she said....but, actually you are closer to 76 than you are 75....waa...waa...I am going to tell Jerry what you said to me!  I knew you were going to say that, she said

Today, I had 2 doctor's appointments ....in other words we spent the whole day at the doctors offices.  The first appointment was with the GI doctor who told me that I have to go back to the hospital for the stent to be taken out and I have to be scheduled for a ERCP which is the procedure I had to put it in.  This is just in case the stent is not where it is suppose to be and they have to go digging for it!  Don't think about it!  The second visit which took 2 hours was regarding the heart procedure and I do not have to go back to see him for 6 months!  Yea!  Even if he is cute!

Good night

Let's have Mexican Food!

Today  we went to Starbucks at 99th street.  After coffee we went next door to the medical supply store and looked at recliner chairs......the kind you can sleep in and then it will lift you to a standing position!

This chair feels pretty good but I think we should check on some other brands!

This is not as comfortable as I thought it would be....let's look around!

Now I must tell you about our adventure yesterday.  We went into Kyles Shoe store.  Vicki went in ahead of me and was in the back of the store when I got there...I could hear her talking to the nice 85 year old man as I walked into the store.  Then I heard this conversation,  Your hair is so pretty, he said...it needs to be cut, she said....no, don't cut it, it is beautiful he said....don't you cut your hair...if you do, I want the curls...on March 10th when we get our hair cut I will take a plastic bag and collect the curls for him!  I can't help but wonder what he will do with them!  lol!

Tonight we went out to dinner with the girls.  Mexican food , of course.

The girls......Bev, Betty, me, Vicki, and Mary on the top picture and Rita in the bottom picture!

Bev is a retired nurse and Betty is a retired Realtor.

In this picture we added Mary and I don't know what happened to the picture with Rita in it.

Rita is a celebrity, she is on the Surprise TV station and is a computer wiz and does wonderful things with photos.Mary is a numbers person ...income taxes , poker wiz.  This is a fun little group.  Rita and Mary have 5,231  friends and are very busy people!

Rita took a video at dinner but I could not get it uploaded.

Another adventure!

Today we had to be out of the house early as the cleaning lady came.  So, at 8:00 we were out the door and headed for Starbucks.  There were not many people there as we were really early!

Surprise, surprise, next we went to Curves and made an appearance....also we worked out.

Next on our list was to go to Joann's to look at some more flannel for Todd's quilt.  I did find one more pattern and it was on sale for under $3 per yard.  Had I known it was so cheap I would have bought more.

Next, we went out to Mark and Tami's area where we think we might someday move.  Of course, we would not tell Rosine as she does not need to know.  These are apartments and it would allow us to be close to our nurses, Mark and Tami.  As I said yesterday...Rosine is shooting for 115 and although she may make it we may not make it!  lol!  Who knows when we would do this but it also has nothing to do with the condo in San Diego!

The grounds are very   nice and the apartment has 3 bedrooms, a lake view and maybe a fireplace!

So, at least we know where we want to go when we get ready to sell this place.

We do have fun adventures and one never knows what we will be into at any given time!
