Our 115 day World Cruise, day 54, at sea

Went to IHOP for breakfast this morning and then we were off back to Sun City West .  Our adventure was successful and now we don't have to wonder if we are sleeping on the right bed!

Stopped at Costco to buy food for our new diet...not another one...which one have you not done?  I do believe this one is just no white flour, no sugar and no beef.  we should add the wine, nuts and olive oil and just call it the Mediterranean    Diet!  lol!

The sugar is the problem....it is always the problem...you know that a sugar addict is an alcoholic who takes their alcohol in solid form.  This is true.  The disease is not called alcoholism but is called diabetes.  This is not funny ...Boo!

Did not feel well when we got home.  Went straight to my chair and slept for 3 hours.  This was not good....Vicki just kept going...went to visit her mom and did some work on her computer.  I rate this day as lost....so....we will choose to dance!

Where we did not go today ....but the Amsterdam did!
fAt Sea!  Jeff continues to celebrate

The hot sunny days continue here on the ms Amsterdam…..   It was so hot that I came in early which is pretty unusual for me.  The Mariner Appreciation Days continued with a cocktail party in the evening.  It was a very nice evening.  It felt pretty special sitting in an area reserved for the President Club members.  I am looking forward to our next stop in Bali, one of my favorites.  It is especially nice since many Indonesian crew members will get to visit with their families….

Our 115 day World Cruise day 53, at sea

Left for coffee early today and went to Curves to get it out of the way.
Had coffee with Sandi and Irwin and we were off to Chandler.

It took about 1 hour to get to the mall.  It was  very  nice and had a totally different  Dillards.  Saw a lot of really nice things.  While we were there we had lunch.

I don't have to tell you where we had lunch!

After we checked into the motel and then decided to go to a show.  We saw Zero Dark 30.  It was very interesting.  Now maybe we can play catch up and see Argo.

We really did not get into the pool although we took our suits

No, I di not sit there for longer than it took to take my picture.  lol!

Our mission for going to Chandler was to spend the night on a Sleep Number bed.  It was not wonderful like I thought it would be.  Not that I did not sleep okay but I woke up with a little back ache that went away quickly.  Vicki did not like it either.  So now we can stop wondering, now we know...and No is the vote!  lol!

At Sea, a special night for Jeff!

                                                                                                          Jeff

Today was a wonderful day at sea….  The weather was very hot and sunny.  Spent the day poolside with a fair amount of time in the pool.  Tonight was a very special evening.  I was invited to dinner in the Pinnacle Grill with Stein Kruse, President & CEO of Holland America Line for induction into the President’s Club.  The President’s Club is a fairly exclusive group of people who have sailed for over 1400 days with Holland America.  There are a total of 46 people in this club.  The evening was just wonderful, great food and wonderful dinner companions.  In addition to Stein and his wife Linda, we were joined by Captain Mercer and his wife Karen and Gerald Bernhoft, the head of the Mariner Program.  It was a grand evening…..  what an honor!

Our 115 day World Cruise, day 52, Freemante & Perth, Australia, aaaaa day 2

This was like a sea day for us.  After we went to Starbucks, Curves and QT we went home and both of us started working on our projects.  Vicki was working on her income tax and checking out the cruise boards to see what was going on.

Meanwhile I was in my sewing room working on the quilt.  I finished all of the squares and now I am ready to sew them together.  oN Friday I will lay out the squares and begin sewing them together.  I will have the quilt top ready to put it in the mail on Monday.

Tomorrow we are going to have an adventure.  We are going to Chandler for the day and spending the night down there.  So we will let you know how the sleep number beds work.  I will post day 52 and 53 on Thursday night!

This is about all I have to report today and if we had our way....

                                                   We would choose to dance!

Dance dance and dance some more!!  I'm tired now....going to bed!

 Freemante & Perth, Australia

Had a wonderful day visiting with my friends Paul & Sylvia today…..  It is such a treat to visit them here in Perth.  I wish the ship would come here more often.  We dropped Corrine off in Perth this morning so she could go shopping and we drove through the Swan Valley which is wine country.  It was a lovely drive as we headed out of town.  We made our way to Caversham Wildlife Park which was out in Whiteman Park.  It is always nice to visit wildlife parks in Australia…  love being up close to the animals.  We then headed back to town and picked up Corrine and drove back to Freemantle.  We spent some time walking around Freemantle and had some lunch.  Then it was back to the ship where we said our goodbyes and off we went as the ship sailed away to our next port….  Bali!  A thousand thanks to Paul & Sylvia for being such great hosts…..
