 At Sea

Today was a day for storms…  there just wasn’t a lot of pool time to be had.  I just hope tomorrow will bring better weather for our visit to Rabaul, Papua New Guinea.  Tonight was pretty special, our friends Jim & Carol Hausman couldn’t be here but we could be there for them.  Jim’s uncle Jesse Alec Mannin, was killed in WWII when his ship the USS Brownson DD 518, was sunk off Cape Gloucester on 26 December 1943.  There were 108 men lost when the ship went down.  Since we were in the area, we had a memorial service for his uncle and all the men lost that day.  In their memory, we placed a wreath in the sea….  It was a very nice ceremony.  We then  went to dinner in the Pinnacle Grill, compliments of Jim & Carol.  We had a great meal and fabulous company.  Thanks to Jim & Carol, wish you could have been here.

BE CAREFUL OUT THERE!
